Il primo, Dashiell Hammett, è il padre del genere Hard-Boiled.
Senza di lui, oggi, non scriveremmo noir.
Il secondo, Robert Doisneau, non ha bisogno di presentazioni: le sue foto parlano per lui.
Senza di lui, oggi, non ci faremmo venire i calli alle mani nel tentativo di riprendere una "street life in Paris" rigorosamente in bianco e nero. E questo, solo per poterci avvicinare anche un minimo alle sue perfette atmosfere.
Del primo, Raymond Chandler (ovvero l'uomo che ha perfezionato l'Hard-Boiled) aveva scritto nel suo "The Simple Art of Murder":
"Hammett took murder out of the Venetian vase and dropped it into the alley... He gave murder back to the kind of people who do it for a reason, not just to provide a corpse; and with means at hand, not with hand wrought dueling pistols, curare, and tropical fish".
Del secondo, in tanti hanno detto quel che c'era da dire, ma le parole di Doisneau sono quelle che più hanno significato:
"Quello che io cercavo di mostrare, era un mondo dove mi sarei sentito bene, dove le persone sarebbero state gentili, dove avrei trovato la tenerezza che speravo di ricevere. Le mie foto erano come una prova che questo mondo può esistere"
Quel che accomuna questi due grandi artisti è che se siete a Parigi (ed il genere vi interessa) potrete vedere le loro opere.
Dashiell Hammett fino al 27 di Marzo alla BiLiPo (ovvero alla Bibliothèque des Littèratures Policières) dove sono esposti i volumi originali dell'epoca.
Nel caso doveste andarci vi consiglio di dare un'occhiata anche ai testi della biblioteca in generale, è una biblioteca unica nel suo genere. E' specializzata in letteratura poliziesca, storie di spionaggio, cinema e fumetto di genere, e ovviamente criminologia.

Un consiglio: se andate alla Bilipo e notate una boulangerie proprio prima di arrivare alla biblioteca, fiondatevi dentro e comprate un pain au raisins (o come li chiamo io: cacchette di mucca) li fanno buonissimi.
Morbidi e non bruciacchiati come invece talvolta si trovano da Paul...

Without him, today, we wouldn't be able to write noir stories.
Sam Spade is one of his creatures.
Robert Doisneau is a famous photographer, and we don't need to explain anything: his work talks for him.
One wrote:
- "Feed the lettuce to the bunny and eat the bunny"
- "Who shot him? I asked"
The gray man scratched the back of his neck and said: "Somebody with a gun"
The other one said: "The marvels of the daily life are exciting; no movie director can arrange the unexpected that you find in the street"
Said that, don't you think these two guys deserve a visit to their exhibition?

Beautiful post! Two talented artists, one of them being a pioneer, who truly deserve those homages to their work.
